Due to the proposed transition from a girls-only boarding school to a co-ed boarding school, Wychwood required various updates and reconfigurations to their buildings before the new school term started in September 2023.

Alongside project managers, Carter Jonas, BC Workspace delivered the first phase of a 5-phase project this summer. The scope of works consisted of:

• Installation of new student toilet and shower facilities
• Installation of new staff and guest toilet facilities
• Creation of a new fitness gym including a weights room and cardio area
• Relocation and refurbishment of English and Foreign Language classrooms
• Creation of a new IT suite
• Creation of a new 6^th form study area and “social hub”
• Relocation and refurbishment of boarding rooms
• Refurbishment of existing staff offices
• Installation of new external gate
• Overhaul of existing fire doors and ironmongery

Services provided were:

• Plumbing
• Electrics inc. new lighting installations
• Carpentry and bespoke joinery
• Flooring
• Decoration
• Window blinds and manifestation

All works were completed on time and to budget, ready for the start of the new school term.

BC Workspace are currently working on the scope of works for phase 2 of the project, which includes the refurbishment of a number of science lab classrooms and the refurbishment of existing timber windows & doors.
